Breaking news! Idaho BMX has teamed up with professional BMX racer and coach Jeff Upshaw to offer a special Pro-Open Series during Idaho Indoor BMX. We are still nailing down the details but this post shares the general structure. Spread the word! Series opener THIS Saturday, Feb 8th - which means it's just in time so pro Olivia Armstrong can join in on the fun while she is in town hosting her clinics.

1. Eligibility
Age Requirement: Riders must be 14 years old or older on the date of the event.
Categorization: Pro and Amatuer (Expert) riders of the age of 14 and over men and women.
Pre-Registration: All participants must register online or in person before the cutoff time for each event.
Fees: $5 per rider
Qualifications to the Main Event/Title:
Must attend and participate in 3 races and the final event to be eligible for the winning title.
2. Race Format
Moto and Final Structure:
Riders will be placed into moto rounds based on registration and will race in 2 total point rounds to qualify to main event.
Number of motos: Depends on the number of participants; 16 or more riders qualifies for a semi.
Main Event: Top 8 riders from the qualifying round will advance to the final. Based on qualifying points, riders with the lowest score will get to choose their lane choice in the semi/main event.
Qualifications:
Top X riders (e.g., top 4) from each semi advance to the final, with overall placements determining final rankings.
3. Scoring System for series
Series Points Awarding: Points can be awarded based on finishing position in the main event:
Points Scale:
1st: 10 points
2nd: 8 points
3rd: 6 points
4th: 5 points
5th: 4 points
6th: 3 points
7th: 2 points
8th: 1 point
Accumulated points will determine the overall standings for the series.
Must attend and participate in 3 qualifier races to be eligible for the winning title and also race the final on March 15th.
Top 4 scores will count towards your series total.
Finals will be added to the total in order to determine the final standings.
4. Disqualification and Appeals
Disqualification may occur for:
Not following standard USA BMX race rules.
Unsportsmanlike conduct.
Equipment violations.
Appeal Process:
Riders may submit a written appeal regarding race results or disqualifications within 24 hrs after the race to events@idahobmx.com.
5. Awards and Recognition
Grand Prizes: Winner of the overall series will be rewarded series overall and a trophy for bragging rights until the next series.
First Place - trophy & Series Pot (entry fees)

Third Place - TBD swag
Qualifier Event Prizes: Winner of each qualifier event will be rewarded with:
First Place - $15 Bike Bucks
Second Place - $10 Bike Bucks
Third Place - $5 Bike Bucks
NOTE: Payouts will be adjusted if less than 6 participants sign up per qualifier, so the track can break even.
Additional money collected outside of payouts will contribute to the Finale winnings. (Ex: with 7 riders, $5 will be banked or with 10 riders, $20 will be banked) The more who race, the more at stake for the finals!
Recognition: We will also highlight special achievements through ceremonies or announcements.
Adhering to these rules and format can help create a competitive yet safe environment for the BMX "14 and Over Pro-Am" race, enhancing the overall experience for both athletes and spectators.
